WHAT DAD REALLY WANTS FOR FATHER’S DAY

Are you looking for that great gift idea for dad this year? Well, don’t pull out that credit card so fast. Recent research shows that over 75% of dads prefer an experience over a physical gift for Father’s Day. As a father myself, I will certainly agree with that. Let’s take a look at what some of the dads who were surveyed would like for Father’s Day…

  • “Family time”
  • “A visit and a hug from my kids and grandkids. I’ll supply and grill the burgers and hot dogs.”
  • “I want my adult, moved out kids, to schedule the day, buy the food, cook the food, serve the food, provide real conversation, and clean it all up at the end of the day. That would be awesome!”
  • “Absolutely nothing but family.”
  • “For Father’s Day, I want to be a father and treat my kids and grandkids to a steak dinner cooked on my grill. Yes, cooking for my kids and grandkids on Father’s Day is work, but (it’s) work of love for my family.”
  • “A big slice of the best pizza in town.”
  • “Just to be with the family on the beach, then watch the U.S. Open.”
  • “In all honesty, nothing, but my wife will not allow that. A massage, a six-pack, a nice cigar, a trip to a brewery — something simple that promotes relaxation for an hour or so. Expensive gifts lose their charm quickly and stress me out, personally.”

If you do want to buy dad something, here are the top gifts that real dads said they received…

  • Tickets to a Sporting Event – Spending quality time and making a memory with their child while seeing their team.
  • A Gadget to Make His Life Easier – Dads like their gadgets, and if it makes his life easier…bonus!
  • A Grill – Dads love a new grill and food brings people together!
  • Outdoor Activity Gear – Outdoorsmen will like any addition to the activity that they love.
  • A Card or Letter – Words hold so much power so tell your dad what he means to you!

So, don’t stress over what to get dad for Father’s Day this year. I think it’s safe to say, that most importantly he wants you.
