A Spooky Little Tale for Halloween
This is the time of year where talk of witches, ghosts, and ghouls are on the lips of children and adults alike. The leaves are baring the trees one by one, and the cool air can send a chill down the spine. Darkness comes earlier and earlier as Halloween creeps closer and closer. Though this holiday embraces everything frightening, it somehow brings joy to those who embrace it. (The candy helps to). So, in the spirit of Halloween, I thought I would share a quick tale that just might send a chill down your spine. Enjoy…
I Lost My Phone – unknown writer
“Last night a friend rushed me out of the house to catch the opening act at a local bar’s music night. After a few drinks I realized my phone wasn’t in my pocket. I checked the table we were sitting at, the bar, the bathrooms, and after no luck I used my friend’s phone to call mine. After two rings someone answered, gave out a low raspy giggle, and hung up. They didn’t answer again. I eventually gave it up as a lost cause and headed home. I found my phone laying on my nightstand, right where I left it.”
So…Now that you read this, when you are getting ready for your costume party or Halloween adventure this weekend, make sure you have your phone. You might not want to make the call to find it, and find someone or something on the other end.

Did You Know?
A full moon occurs on Halloween every 19 years – Also, every Halloween full moon is a blue moon! We can catch a glimpse of the next Halloween full moon in 2039.
The cult-movie classic “Hocus Pocus” originally started as a bedtime story – David Kirschner originally told the story of the Sanderson Sisters to his daughters as a bedtime story. Later he decided to write and produce the film.
The hit Halloween song “The Monster Mash” was banned in the UK for 11 years – When “The Monster Mash” was released it was at the top of the billboards for 14 weeks, but the BBC thought it was far too morbid to play over radio waves in the UK so they banned it. The ban was reversed in 1973, and it topped the charts once again.
Harry Houdini passed away on Halloween in 1926 – Famous escape artist and magician Harry Houdini died from a ruptured appendix on Halloween in 1926. Some believe the sudden appendicitis was brought on by a series of blows to the stomach from just days before.
