POTTSTOWN REVISITS THE PAST THIS WEEKEND

Boyertown and Pottstown have had a connection since the start of the two towns. From the begining of the iron industry along the Manatawny & Ironstone creeks, to the railway that soon followed, and even the straight drive down Rt 100. Just recently The Colebrookdale Railroad has reconnected the towns by railway again, with future plans to offer everyday travel between the two. If you are interested in history, Pottstown has a lot to offer this weekend. From learning about Native American culture, or a 1700’s Colonial Mayfair, to the revvin’ engines of a classic car show, there is something for everyone.

Head on down to Riverfront Park for the 7th Annual Powwow on Manatawny Creek. This is a celebration of the historic heritage and the contributions that Native Americans have had in this region. It also intends to help fund the preservation of a Native American Burial site located at the intersection of Franklin St and Industrial Highway. There will be Native American dance exhibitions, crafts, and displays. The event will run Saturday & Sunday from 10AM to 4PM. All ages are welcome. Admission is free, but a $5 donation is suggested. Bring your masks and camp chairs. Be safe and have fun!

Pottsgrove Manor’s Annual Colonial Mayfair is this Saturday from 11am-5pm! Stroll the market rows of living history vendors, sutlers, and demonstrators to learn about life in the 18th century and find a perfect souvenir! Laugh and clap with the entertainment of the dancing “jig puppets” and find traditional music shows, sleight of hand, and a special 18th century inspired performances. The entire family will be delighted as they meet historic interpreters throughout the fair and can play games and join in select demonstrations. Ensure the happy arrival of May with a dance around the Maypole, and kids take-home crafts means fun for everyone. Be sure to mark your calendars to remember to visit the fair!

In accordance with covid 19 guidelines all guests MUST pre-register.  Please visit: https://www.montcopa.org/1421/Annual-Colonial-May-Fair for registration.

Attention all car enthusiasts! You do not want to miss the Pottstown Nights Car Show this Saturday at 4:30PM to 9PM. The Red Horse Motoring Club welcomes all to attend this fuel fired spectacle on High Street. It is open to all Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles with no entry fees. Show off your hot rod or just come for the view!
