Here is what’s going down during the week of 7/16 – 7/22/2020
COMEDY UNDER THE STARS – This Wednesday July 22nd, Soul Joel’s Comedy Club brings comedian Chris Roach to Boyertown Community Park! Chris Roach is a fast-rising Comedian/Actor born and raised in New York. He has brought his humor to some of the biggest and best-known stages in the country, such as Gotham Comedy Club, Comic Strip Live NYC, Borgata in Atlantic City, and has recently toured as the opening act for Kevin James. The night will be hosted by Joel Richardson and will also feature comedian Mike Keegan. Guests are encouraged to bring folding chairs or blankets for seating. The show will be held in the outside amphitheater. Please remember to socially distance from others. There will be no food or drink available for sale at the event, but you can support the local restaurants with a dinner out before the show. Grind Restaurant will be offering 10% of your meal, and The Peppermint Stick Candy Store will be offering $.50 off per pound of gummies with proof of ticket before the show. Tickets are ONLY $20. Since this is a fundraising event for Building a Better Boyertown, $10 from each ticket will be donated back to B.B.B. Showtime is 7pm. Live to laugh and laugh to live!

NEOWISE COMET – Do you want to catch a glimpse of Comet Neowise before it speeds away into the depths of space, not to be seen again for another 6,800 years? You will have that opportunity this week, from July 15th to July 23rd. From the naked eye it will look like a fuzzy star with a bit of a tail, so using binoculars or a small telescope is recommended to get the best view. Here is how to see it…
- Find a spot away from city lights with an unobstructed view of the sky
- Just after sunset, look below the Big Dipper in the northwest sky
- Each night, the comet will continue rising increasingly higher above the horizon as illustrated in the graphic below
