IT’S ALL ABOUT LOVE

That special day for all things love is upon us. With thoughts of fresh beginnings and hearts a flutter, cupid will be working overtime this Sunday. I know, I know, Valentine’s Day is a holiday invented by the greeting card companies to sell more cards. Wether that is true or not (it isn’t), it certainly does not hurt to have a day that celebrates everything love.

Every year I see and hear people complaining about not having anyone to share Feb 14th with. I get it, I’ve been there too. You feel like you didn’t get an invitation to the party. It would be nice to be floating on cloud nine with that special someone, but that’s not the way it always works out. If you are one of those people dreading the thought of being alone for Valentine’s, don’t think of it as just a holiday for two, remember that love is all around us. There are many things to love besides a significant other. You have parents, children, pets, best friends, places, sports, movies, food, etc. All things that you love. You don’t have to dread Valentine’s; you can embrace it by celebrating anything you love in life. Maybe this Sunday you can dress up in your favorite outfit that you love, call a family member you love, do an activity you love, sit down to a movie you love, with a drink and some pizza that you love, and enjoy the day. Make it your best Valentine’s Day ever.

For those of you that have someone to enjoy candy, roses, and candlelight dinner with, take pleasure in the day and have fun with it. Enjoy the romantic sparks of cupid’s arrows. But also remember to keep those sparks alive throughout the year. Express your love to each other every day and spread acts of love and kindness to the ones around you.

This Valentine’s Day, try to remember that it does not have to be celebrated between you and your boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, husband, or partner. GET ON THE LOVE TRAIN! Are you looking for a romantic getaway with your sweetheart? Wisk them away on the scenic Colbrookdale Railroad for brunch or dinner while traveling The Secret Valley Line. Choose your excursion for this Valentine’s weekend.

Valentine’s Mimosa Brunch – The brunch menu starts with a lovely garden salad consisting of mixed greens topped with strawberries and blueberries served with vinegarette dressing. Followed by a choice of a delicious homemade sausage quiche or spinach quiche. Also, enjoy a delightful complimentary Mimosa for everyone (21 or older) on board as well as orange juice, coffee, tea, and water. (See times and tickets in events below.)

Romance on the Rails – The dinner menu starts with a lovely garden salad consisting of mixed greens and seasonal veggies with vinaigrette dressing. Followed by a choice of a succulent Chicken Marsala paired with asparagus and twice baked potato or Tortellini served with fresh vegetables in a blush marinara cream sauce. For dessert, guests will be treated to a slice of delicious cheesecake paired with seasonal fruit and chocolate sauce. (See times and tickets in events below.)
