As a Boyertown graduate, a real estate agent at Glocker Realty, and also a proud member of Building a Better Boyertown, I have had the joy of watching our little town grow. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE LIGHTS!

There is no better way to show your enthusiasm for the holidays then by stringing up as many lights and decorations that you can find to make your home sparkle, shine, twinkle, and flash. The showier the better! Some elegant, others gaudy, some colorful, others monochromatic, in each display you will find an expression of art and personality. I, myself, dabble in the Christmas illumination arts. But what I love even more, is gathering the family in the old front-wheel drive sleigh and heading out to find that almighty display of enlightenment and inspiration. With marshmallow topped hot chocolates in hand, my family and I morph into Manhattan art critics as we drive from house to house giving praise or expressing our distaste. It is a tradition that I look forward to each year. So, keep expressing yourself with bigger, better, brighter displays for all of us to ooh and aah over, and let ’em shine!

Here are some great holiday events for your en-light-enment:

Holiday Light Tour – Hop in your car for Zuber Realty’s second annual Holiday Light Tour! There are 21 decorated houses to drive past throughout the Boyertown area. You can vote for your favorite exterior display and enter to win a $50 gift card.  Simply pick up a ballot from the Zuber office and take the tour at your own convenience between 5-9PM from Dec 10th to Jan 3rd. Good luck and enjoy the lights!

Carnival of Lights – Walk through several acres of holiday fun, covered with over 200,000 lights and figures, all dancing in time to your favorite holiday music. Ride a life-sized train around the 20’ Christmas tree, or touch the skies on the brightly decorated Ferris wheel, or jump on the swing ride to feel like you are soaring on Santa’s sleigh. Play your favorite carnival games while you warm up with a fresh cup of hot chocolate and holiday cookies, funnel cake, fried Oreo’s, or cotton candy. You can also grab dinner for the family with even more fair food options. Immerse yourself in the holidays at this socially distant spectacle! Winter Giving Festival – This is one of the most festive and unique food donation drives you will
ever see.  Bring your family and food donation to the Althouse Arboretum between 6 to 7:30pm nightly from December 11th through the 18th (excluding Sun, Dec 13th) for the Winter Giving Festival. There you can drive through the tunnel of lights where your children can play games out the windows of your vehicle for prizes.  It will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.  Have some holiday family fun from the safety of your vehicle while helping the ones that need it the most! 1794 Gilbertsville Rd Pottstown, PA 19464 Food donations benefit the Chester County Food Bank.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS TREE! Help make someone a lucky winner of a $50 gift card and a handmade Santa by J&R Christmas Crafts. There are 14 personal submitted Christmas tree photos in the Christmas Tree Contest post on the Glocker Realty & Insurance Facebook page. Go to the post and “like” your favorite tree or choose more then one. The photo that gets the most likes by Dec 13th will be the winner!
