Boyertown is Getting Even Sweeter!

Boyertown’s beloved Peppermint Stick Candy Store is expanding, and owners Rachael and Gene Kehler are thrilled to introduce their newest addition: The Peppermint Stick Ice Cream Parlor! This 1940s-themed ice cream parlor and soda shop will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, Sept. 6, to Sunday, Sept. 8. The festivities begin on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Building a Better Boyertown.
Located in the space previously occupied by Boyertown Family Dental, the parlor brings a vintage flair to town with its authentic soda fountain bar and nostalgic décor, all designed by historic restoration craftsman Eugene Kehler. He used reclaimed lumber from local buildings to recreate a classic 1940s soda shop, complete with vintage equipment.
Visitors will be able to enjoy over 16 ice cream flavors, sundaes, banana splits, and custom soda concoctions, all in an atmosphere that transports them back to a bygone era. For a special touch, anyone dressed in 1940s attire during the opening weekend will receive a coupon for a free fountain soda on their next visit.
The Peppermint Stick Ice Cream Parlor promises to be a delightful destination for all ages, offering a taste of the past with every scoop.
