Welcome! This is your one stop guide to local events and more...

As a Boyertown graduate, a real estate agent at Glocker Realty, and also a proud member of Building a Better Boyertown & BMBA, I have had the joy of watching our little town grow. I enjoy having any part in helping our community to move forward. I hope this weekly blog will help shine a light on all the great things happening in and around Boyertown, PA.

Prepare to have your mind blown with these 25 extraordinary facts that range from the fascinating to the quirky, and even the downright creepy. Our world is overflowing with little-known information that defies belief, and the collection below feature tidbits that I found particularly compelling. Are you ready to indulge in the world of “did you know?” Get ready to fill your brain with knowledge that isn’t just informative, but wildly entertaining!

  1. There are more lifeforms living on your skin than there are people on the planet.
  2. Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time. (but could he pat his head and make a circular motion on his belly at the same time?)
  3. Twenty percent of office coffee mugs contain fecal matter. (what doo-doo you do about that?)
  4. The three wealthiest families in the world have more assets than the combined wealth of the forty-eight poorest nations. (what to do with all that money?)
  5. Caterpillars almost completely liquify as they transform into moths.
  6. There are over 200 corpses on Mount Everest, and they are used as direction indicators for climbers.
  7. Dr. Seuss wrote “Green Eggs and Ham” to win a bet against his publisher who thought that he could not complete a book with only 50 words.
  8. A human will eat on average 70 assorted insects and 10 spiders while sleeping. (terrifying)
  9. Two-thirds of the people on Earth have never seen snow.
  10. A hummingbird weighs less than a penny.
  11. There are more vacant houses than homeless people in the Unites States. (hmmm?)
  12. The Woolly Mammoth was around when the Egyptian Pyramids were being built.
  13. The average person walks the equivalent of three times around the world in a lifetime.
  14. You are 1% shorter in the evening than in the morning.
  15. It would take over 1,000 years to watch every video on YouTube. (I think my kids are trying to prove this wrong)
  16. A cockroach can live a couple of weeks with its head cut off. (but they cannot live through a nuclear blast)
  17. The tongue is the strongest muscle in the human body.
  18. Men are 6 times more likely to be struck by lightning than women.
  19. The chance of you dying on the way to get lottery tickets is actually greater than your chance of winning. (that makes sense)
  20. Our eyes are always the same size from birth, but our nose and ears never stop growing.
  21. Elvis Presley got a ‘C’ in his 8th grade music class. (he probably wasn’t all shook up about that)
  22. In an average NFL football game, there are only about 12 minutes of actual play time. (that’s about $400 a minute for a Super Bowl ticket)
  23. If you started with $0.01 and doubled your money every day, it would take 27 days to become a millionaire. (sounds easy enough)
  24. Blue Whale fart bubbles are large enough to enclose a horse. (that’s just funny)
  25. 1.3 million Earths could fit inside the Sun. (mind blowing)
