Find your Holiday Spirit!
Are you just not feeling the Christmas joy yet? With less than two weeks until the big day, maybe it’s time to find that Christmas spirit. Here are a few ways that you can get into the festive season.
Try cranking up the Christmas tunes – Nothing gets you in the Christmas spirit like singing along to your favorite Christmas songs. You can Jingle Bells, or Rock Around the Christmas Tree, and dream of a White Christmas. Whatever strikes your mood. I would probably hesitate from starting with the Twelve Days of Christmas though. By the time you get to twelve drummers drumming, it might feel like someone is drumming on your head.
Watch your Favorite Christmas Movie – Nothing beats a festive film to tug on your Christmas heart strings. The right Christmas movie or special can bring you right back to your childhood. There are also some new Christmas movies that might help you find that Christmas magic. My personal favorite is It’s a Wonderful Life (black & white version). I’ll admit that I get a little choked up at the end of the movie every time I watch it.
Bake Something Christmassy – Just the smell alone of Christmas yummies baking will get you right out of the Christmas funk. Do you have grandma’s famous cookie recipe, or have you been dying to try a new recipe you found? Well, grab your apron, turn on the Christmas music, and get baking. Share your delicious delicacy with your friends, family, or neighbors and spread some Christmas cheer!
Give a Christmas Craft a Try – Get your creative juices flowing with some Christmas arts and crafts and you’ll be surprised by how quickly the festive cheer sneaks up on you! Crack open your colored pens and paint set, get out your glue stick and glitter, and try your hand at making your very own Christmas tree decorations, cards, or homemade gifts. This can be therapeutic and fun, and don’t forget to let the kids join in on the Christmas creativity.
Dress the Part – You want to feel Christmassy? You need to dress Christmassy. Do you have an ugly Christmas sweater? It’s time to put it on. Do you have a Santa hat? Plop in on your head. Whether you show your Christmas cheer at work, out shopping, or at your local watering hole, you are bound to conger up some smiles and Christmas cheer from the people around you.

Holiday Light Tour– Zuber Realty has put together a FREE holiday light tour for the Boyertown area. Heat up some hot chocolate, put on your jammies, and jump into your car for a driving light tour that highlights the best exterior light spectacles that are sure to impress.
Magical Lights on Marisa – Have you ever seen The Great Christmas Light Fight? It’s a show about houses that go above and beyond the normal exterior Christmas decorations. This house is just that. Drive up to this Gilbertsville home and tune your radio to 89.5fm to experience a choreographed visual performance of dancing lights with oohs and aahs! Located at 103 Marisa Ln, Gilbertsville.
