Here is what’s going down during the week of 9/10 – 9/16/2020
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? – The NFL is back and I, for one, could not be happier. It will be nice to have a piece of normalcy in a not so normal time. I am looking forward to just sitting down with some wings, a beer, and three hours of nothing else but the excitement of two teams battling for a win. After months of uncertainty about how or if the 2020 season will be played, this Thursday, Sept 10th kicks off the NFL’s 101st season! It begins on time and with a complete game schedule. The defending Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Houston Texans will start things off at Arrowhead Stadium beginning at 8:20 PM ET. Two of the best young quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and MVP Deshaun Watson, will go head to head for what should be a great season opener. Though the season is being played as scheduled, there are some changes that are in affect due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Most noticeable will be the lack of fans in the stadiums. Only 6 of the 32 teams are allowing a limited number of fans at the game, while the rest will have artificial crowd noise pumped in. You will also notice masks worn by refs and coaches. The players will be tested prior to each game, with off the field restrictions in place as well. Even with these minor differences this year, I expect to see football at its finest, bringing us all something to cheer about. And for me it will be… E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!
The 2020 NFL Kickoff special on NBC begins at 7:00 PM ET today, September 10th. Followed by the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium beginning at 8:20 PM ET. In addition to the live telecast of NFL Kickoff on NBC, the game will be streamed live across all devices via NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, NFL.com, and the NFL app. Additionally, fans on mobile devices can stream the game via the Texans and Chiefs mobile properties, Yahoo Sports, and other Verizon Media and NFL properties.
